TAHA in collaboration with development partners which are Fintrac, and SUGECO-Sokoine University are conducting a one-week agronomic boot camp from 16th-20th September, 2019 in Morogoro for the 24 agronomists from different areas of Tanzania including Unguja and Pemba. The boot camp is theory and practical oriented trainings that will sharpen the knowledge of the agronomists and hence activate the TAHA services to members and horticultural industry at large. The boot camp covered; Good Agriculture Practices (GAPs), Horticultural Technologies, Plant Nutrition, TAHA Membership services, Farming as a business, Basic concept of irrigation, Water management and Drip Irrigation components, operations and maintenance. The other key topics are Global Gaps, food safety and standards to unlock trade barriers and safeguard horticultural produce consumers. The practical trainings will also involve field visits to different farmers and processors in Morogoro.
