A joint collaboration between Tanzania horticultural apex body (TAHA), Government’s Kilimanjaro Airports Development Company (KADCO) and Kuehne+Nagel has secured a reliable cargo flight to carry high-value perishable crops to overseas markets, in its painstaking struggles to salvage the key economic industry from sinking, amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The coronavirus outbreak has forced most of Global airlines to ground their passenger planes, inducing logistical hurdle and earnestly crippling the exports of local lucrative horticultural crops to the international markets. TAHA says the (pandemic’s triggered transport blue has put a Tanzania’s multi-million dollars’ green industry, under renewed pressure, after a lull of nearly 12 years, as all the country’s horticultural crops exports to the Global markets have been relying on passenger flights.
